Sangre De Cristo 14ers

The Sangre de Cristo 14ers lie in an often overlooked region of the state. They are stunningly beautiful and plenty rugged. Located outside of Alamosa, this is a dramatic landscape that you do not want to overlook.



Blanca Peak

Elevation- 14,345'

Access from Lake Como Road. This is a nice moderate hike with very little traffic.

Crestone Peak

Elevation- 14,294'

Use South Colony Lakes Road for access. This is a nice moderate hike with minimal crowds.

Crestone Needle

Elevation- 14,197'

Near the Great Sand Dunes use South Colony Lakes Road. This is a moderate hike with minimal crowds.

Kit Carson Peak

Elevation- 14,165'

Use South Colony Lakes Road for access. This is a moderate hike with loose rock.

Challenger Point

Elevation- 14,081'

Use South Colony Lakes Road for access. Some loose rock but not a technical hike.

Humbolt Peak

Elevation- 14,064'

Near the Great Sand Dunes access off of South Colony Lakes Road. This is an easy hike.

Culebra Peak

Elevation- 14,047'

Located way down South out of San Luis this is an easy hike.

Mount Lindsey

Elevation- 14,042'

Use CR580 to the Huerfano Trailhead for this moderate hike.

Ellingwood Point

Elevation- 14,042'

Access from Lake Como Road for this moderate hike.

Little Bear Peak

Elevation- 14,037'

Access off Lake Como Road this is a beautiful and technical climb.
