Located near Cripple Creek the closest major airport is in Colorado Springs. This is one of the Colorado Parks that is operational year-round.

Activities

This Colorado National Park has several hiking trails, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are horseback trails and indoor fossil and geology exhibits.

The park has a daily program where they demonstrate fossil excavating techniques and do tours of their fossil lab.
