Howelsen Ski Area

Howelsen ski area is the oldest operating ski area in Colorado and has a history of use by world class skiiers. Join us on your Howelsen ski adventure.

The Mountain

The mountain is a historical landmark having sent more skiiers to international competition than any other ski area in North America and it has the biggest natural ski jumping area in the continent. With a 7,136 foot summit, 4 lifts and 15 trails the area is worth a visit. There are also cross country ski trails for a change of pace.

Location

Located near Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley Howelsen is in a scenic destination area. Steamboat springs resorts, condos and hotels are ideal lodging and the nightlife is fresh and fun. This is the most historical of Colorado ski areas and should be consider as a diversion from the bigger resorts on your next Colorado ski vacation.
