Purgatory Ski Area The Purgatory ski area at Durango Mountain Resort has something to offer everyone and the setting is spectacular. With family ski packages and some of the best Colorado sightseeing this is an area every outdoor enthusiast should visit.
Location Purgatory mountain is located at the Durango Mountain Resort off of the scenic Colorado highway 550. Located between Durango and Silverton you will find plenty of lodging and recreational opportunities. We consider this area to be more than a Colorado weekend getaway. It is one of the coolest outdoor environments in the state. The Mountain Purgatory Mountain offers a 10,822 ft. summit with 2,029 ft. of vertical drop and 1,325 acres of terrain. Access is easy with 10 lifts and 85 runs. There are 3 terrain parks and the terrain is diverse enough to satisfy beginner, intermediate, and expert snowboarders and skiiers. The Paradise Freestyle Arena is a sweet terrain park as is the Pitchfork Terrain Garden. They both offer room to express yourself and catch some serious air. The Divine Comedy is the third terrain park and should be considered by expert snowboarders. The Mountain offers the opportunity for a kid friendly vacation and has great Colorado ski packages. The Resort The resort is a fantastic place with fine dining and excellent lodging. The Durango Mountain club offers a variety of services for members and is a great deal. The Purgatory Lodge offers stunning views of the mountain and you can always grab a beer and some great food at Purgy's, Dante's or any one of the great dining areas. The Village Wine Cellar is also a good stop for a variety of wine and beer.
